"In harmony with nature" – organic farm Juchowo as place of learning and unforgettable experiences

The educational program "In harmony with nature" is addressed to children from kindergarten, primary and secondary school students. Through observation, actions and experiences on our farm, children and young people learn about the relationship between man and the natural environment. They discover a place where healthy food is produced. They learn how to look after animals, to provide them with decent living conditions and make them happy. Young people realize how man affects the natural environment and what they must do to preserve or restore ecological balance and the beauty of nature.

The program is interlaced with the rhythm of the seasons. It gives young people the opportunity to get unique impressions and to acquire new experiences that complement their school knowledge. During the workshop, children and young people engage wholeheartedly and with all their senses in farm activities. Science at the farm is a fascinating discovery, and young people learn on this occasion the responsibility and sensitivity for nature’s processes. Educational workshops are adapted to the age and needs of the participants. We set individually with the teachers what will happen during the workshops.

Contents of educational workshops:

From grain to bread – children and young people learn about different types of cereals and cereal products; they grind grain for flour, then bake bread, buns, etc. The workshop ends with lunch prepared from our organic products by students.

Cereal products and their role in our daily diet – quizzes, brainstorming, discussion – thanks to a variety of interactive activities, students discover cereals and their nutritional values.

Good animal keeper – children play the role of a good farmer and help to feed animals, learn their habits, needs etc.

From grass to milk – pupils find out where the milk comes from; they make butter and cottage cheese.

Organic farming, what next? – how a farm works; students can get to know the farm as an interesting place to work and to live.

Live healthy! ABC of healthy eating – culinary workshops according to the rhythms of the season’s life on the farm; seasonal vegetables direct from the garden to the table (e.g. "World around pumpkin", "Carrot craziness").

Amazing world of forests and meadows – collecting herbs, grasses and flowers and make an herbarium.

You can learn anything – creative activity workshops with the use of natural materials.
