feed production
Cows are fed with good fodder produced in meadows and fields. Our fields are covered with green cover all the time, which prevents soil drying and erosion. This is very important for soil protection. In the meadows there are sown, among others, nitrogen-binding plants (legumes), which are a source of protein for animals and nutrients for soil, because legumes can bind nitrogen from the air and thus build a soil layer. Our mixtures of grass with clovers always contain 2% of various herb species to cover the need of animals for plant minerals. Two or three swaths of hay during the season from own and rented meadows provide feed for a herd of cows in the winter.
In addition, cows receive a smaller amount of concentrated feed, which is essential as a source of energy and protein. It consists of various grains and legumes from own crops.
